Hudson is here!

Hudson James Holtvluwer has arrived -- right on his due date! I am very thankful for a healthy baby grandson!

Nate will put pictures and details on their website tomorrow.

Nate just called and put Hudson near the phone and I heard some of his baby sounds!

I don't want to put to many details on here tonight, because I want everyone to check out Nate and Brooke's blog tomorrow!

I wish I could be there! We will be going to see Nate and Brooke on April 12 and staying for a long weekend! Only 18 more days!!

Happenings

Well, I am patiently waiting for the arrival of my lst grandchild! Everytime the phone rings - I am sure that it is the call. But I know babies always have their own agenda!

I am looking forward to leaving for Florida this Thursday with my friend, Irene. I am anxious to see Nick and Jenni's new place and spend some time with them and also to check up on my daughter, Emily and help her with some wedding plans. Also - to relax and get some sun and read some books. It will be a great adventure - driving with Irene - who always makes my life so interesting and fun!

Jack and I drove up to Traverse City to check out the wedding place. It will be beautiful. We drove up the penisula and had a great lunch. The day was kinda foggy but everyone once in awhile the sun would shine through. There was still some snow along the roads and the lakes were still somewhat frozen.

We ended our day by celebrating with Tim Koeze in his 50th birthday! It sure is nice that other people our joining the us 50 year olds. As always, Pam had wonderful food and many nice friends there. Pam will be joining the ranks of the 50 year olds in a couple of months.

It was a long day in the car - but we got to see some of God's beautiful nature and also the miracle of the changing seasons!

What a day!

I had a great day today! I went out with my friends, Beth and Jan for breakfast at Sandy's. I didn't get the veggie omelette today - so I settled for a lite breakfast. After working until 1:30, I volunteered to take some mail over to the elementary school. ( I drove today, usually I walk). I was only about 50 feet on my way when I was broadsided by a pickup truck pulling out of his driveway. Luckily I wasn't hurt, but was a little shook up. I called work and had them call the police. I waited about 25 minutes for the police to come. While waiting, Nate called and asked what I was doing - I was more interested in what the doctor had to say. It could be any day for little Hudson to make his appearance. I am very thankful that the accident wasn't serious! God is good!

Christmas 2006

We had a wonderful family Christmas at Uncle Tim and Aunt Pam Koeze's house. Our whole family went to a wonderful Christmas
Eve service and then had a pizza supper and exchange gifts with our prayer partners. Nick and Jen came from Florida and Nate and Brooke were here from Texas. Emily was there with Ben, her fiance and they will be moving to Sarasota the first of the year. Grandma and Aunt Wilma were there along with Pam and Tim and their girls, Sarah, Allie, and Megan and her friend, Bob. We all had a wonderful time and took a lot of family pictures. Family times are great!

Sue's News

Spring is coming to Michigan! February has been a very snowy month-although very beautiful!

I am anxiously awaiting the birth of my first grandson - he should be born in the next two weeks. His parents are Nate and Brooke Holtvluwer who live in League City, Texas. He will be named Hudson James after both of his great-grandfathers. Nate and Brooke are both teachers in Friendswood, Texas and they will make great parents.

Tomorrow my son, Nick, will hopefully be on the "Today Show". The St. Petersberg Times wrote and article on Nick and his 1st grade class. He is a first grade teacher in Tampa and he was highlighted in the article on his unique teaching style. This in turn was picked up by the "Today Show". I am excited to see what they put together.

Emily, my daughter and her fiance, Ben are busy planning for their June 30 wedding. With both of them living in Florida and planning the wedding in Traverse City. Michigan they have been very busy. I know it will be a beautiful wedding and a great time to spend time with family and friends.
