My Mom

My mom, or Grandma Nola as she is known by her kids and grandkids has gone to heaven. She went to heaven yesterday afternoon. After having her appendix out last Tuesday - she never felt well after that. She had gotten a severe infection which was in her blood and eventually got so bad that it started shutting her main organs down. My brother, Tim drove from New Orleans and arrived on Thursday evening. She was opening her eyes yet on Thursday night but on Friday morning, Pam, Tim and I (with the help of her doctors) realized that mom was very, very sick and was not going to get better . We made the hard decision to take the breathing tube away. After the breathing tube was removed she left us for heaven very shortly. Our family was there (Jack, me, Nick and Jenni) - with Emily and Nate on their cell-phones - we all told her how much we loved her and what a great mom she was! We sang to her about the wonderful love of Jesus and let her go to be with Him! She is now with our dad - who has been waiting over 30 years for her! She is now listening to the angels sing and joining all our other loved ones who have gone ahead of her!

Pam, Tim and I spent today planning her service and want it to be a celebration of her life! I will miss her very, very much! I am comforted that she is in heaven with Jesus! Please pray that others will learn from her example of the wonderful love of Jesus!

"What a friend we have in Jesus - all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry - everything to Him in prayer".

Many thanks to all of you who have already sent words of encouragement and called. Emily and Ben -- Nate and Brooke and Hudson should be home tomorrow evening. Please pray that everyone who is planning on attending the funeral will arrive safely and continue to pray for our family in the days to come! The funeral will be on Wednesday, June 13 at 11:00am at her church!

I miss you mom! --Sue

Sue - Your mom was a very special person - kind, thoughtful, and caring. I was blessed to have known her and to have seen her recently at Emily's shower. I remember her laughing during one of the games that talked about her doing a liturgical dance at Emily's wedding. She will dance and it will be beautiful! Maybe angels will join with her - an amazing thought. But you will miss her so much. And so we pray for you, Jack, and your family. Sending love.....

Dear Aunt Sue-
When someone I know passes on to their forever home I always think of a beautiful little blue eyed girl meeting them at the gates with a smile from ear to ear...she knows all that heaven has to offer and now Grandma Nola knows it too! You'll love her forever and God promises that you will see her again and then be with her forever!! All my prayers as you and the family say not 'goodbye', but 'see you later!' Love you!!
