Beach Day with the Bonnema Girls

Every summer, Bethany and Jenny and I take a trip to the beach. This year we went to Pam's cottage for the day. It was a beautiful day - we started out by getting supplies for lunch and also some snacks to eat at the beach. The water was a little cool - but I went in and the girls waded and got a little wet. Uncle Tim was busy windsurfing while we enjoyed watching him. Pam and her friend, Knott were up there too - we read, caught some rays and watched some airplanes fly over and waved to them. After the beach we stopped in Whitehall for some ice cream of course. We had a great day!

Visiting family in Houston

We traveled to Houston on Wednesday - we went through a major rain storm. I was driving and it was quite scary. We got to Nate and Brooke's early Wednesday evening. We went out for a great supper with Emily and Ben, Nate and Brooke and Hudson. On Thursday, Irene and I went shopping, played with Hudson, and the whole gang went to Galveston for shopping on the Strand and a great dinner. On Friday, Irene got a massage and I got a manicure. We then went to see where Ben and Emily are going to live and also where Ben is going to teach in the fall. On Saturday, Irene and I flew to Chicago Midway, took the Amtrak to Kalamazoo where Jack picked us up. It was a quick trip - but visiting with family was a truly great adventure. We are thankful for our safe travel and a great time.

New Orleans

We got to New Orleans on Monday evening and went out for supper with my brother, Tim. We spent Tuesday in New Orleans eating at Bubba Gump's, dodging raindrops, taking a carriage ride through the French Quarter, and listening to a great jazz band that performed for us while we were at a cafe having some coffee.

Irene and I left early Sunday morning for our trip to New Orleans and Houston. We stopped at a winery and tasted some great wines.

Laura Jo and Andrew's Wedding

On Saturday, July 28, I attended Laura and Andrew's wedding (she is a friend from school). It was on the beautiful Lake Michigan beach. It was an awesome night and I got to spend it with friends and a beautiful sunset.
