Celebrating Birthdays

May is a busy month for birthdays! Pam and I took Aunt Wilma out for our birthdays last week. We decided not to do the Arnie's thing or the Russ' thing and went to a cute little grill in Rockford. We also had time to walk around a little and enjoy a glass of wine together. We had a very nice dinner and it was great to catch up. Pam was showing Aunt Wilma the pictures of their trip to Portland to see Megan. Being with family is always a good thing!!!
Happy Birthday to us!!

Bible Study Friends

What a great group of friends we are! We had our year-end Bible Study get together at June's house this year. We each brought a munchie/snack to share. We had such a blessed time this year, studying the apostle, John. We learned many wonderful things and shared our lives with each other this past year. We continue to hold each up in prayer and continue to be amazed by our wonderful Saviour, Jesus Christ and how He works in our lives. We are looking forward to getting together again in the fall.

Spring is in the air!!

As I have been involved in Children's Worship the past two Sundays, it is very obvious that Spring is here! After celebrating the resurrection of our risen Lord last week with the kids on a wonderful spring morning and talking to them today about the beautiful day we had yesterday, they were eager to tell me all the wonderful things that they could now do now that the weather is nice. Riding bikes, jumping on tramps, helping mom/dad with washing the car, playing......sometimes you just want to be a kid again!!

Last week we celebrated with the Koezes with a great ham dinner and we glad that aunt Wilma was able to join us. This week the Koezes leave to spend some time with Megan and Bob in Portland. Pam and I talked about how hard it is to say good-bye, when we aren't even there yet. I think we both thought that our kids would stay in the area so we could do the things other moms and kids do - like lunch, going our for dinner, hanging out, come over for a cup of coffee.....but God has the agenda, and even if we don't always understand it, it is always comforting to know that he is the one in control.

As you can see by my writing, that I didn't take my camera out to take pictures......well, sometimes that is okay!

After dinner, Sarah, Pam, Aunt Wilma, and I played a new game called, Bananas - yeah, if you like scrabble you will like this game. Let's just say I didn't do too well!! As always when ever we play word games, we always talk about mom.......she was the ultimate word game player!! Let's just say I am sure she was smiling up in heaven at our conversation!!! Miss you mom!!

Erika and Jan

I took this picture of Erika and John from her camera phone.......I have been able to watch this couple grow from infatuation to friendship and now to two people who are in love. Erika is a wonderful Christian young woman who is alive with her love for God. She worked in a temp position next to me for a few months and now she comes to fill in once in awhile! She is such a breath of fresh air and I enjoy our conversations about God, being in love, and her happy disposition! I am thankful that you are in my life Erika!!

Jan and Erika - Jan is quite a woman, when I got back from Texas, she surprised me with a great new hairdo.........boy, did her hair really grow that much while I was gone? I was puzzled, then of course she "confided" in me that it was a wig. There is never a dull moment in the office!!

My friend, Joan

One of dearest people I know is my friend Joan. We have been friends for about 15 years and everytime we get see each other I am reminded why God gives me such wonderful friends! We always talk about our great kids, and what each of us have been doing lately.....oh, and of course there is always laughter, sometimes tears, lots of memories, and always great "eats". Thank you so much for being a part of my life!
